Hello folks

I'm building a new PC based on the following hardware, I would use Window 8.1 mainly but to learn some of iOS native app development environment i would also like to install mac OS x on it. :

  • Intel Core i5-4670K
  • Asus Z87-K
  • Noctua NH-D15
  • 16GB low profile DDR3 RAM (4x4GB)
  • Nvidea gtx 770
  • Samsung 840 evo 250GB SSD
  • 2TB Seagate Barracuda

I would like to know all of the above mentioned hardware are compatible with MAC OS X or should I buy any other motherboard or graphic card?

Regards

Sharif

You're going to want to go with a gigabyte board if you want OS X on it. Much easier to Hackintosh.

Also try to get a Reference GTX 780 Easier for "Hackintoshing"

Yeah, a Gigabyte MB will make it a lot easier for you. Look online for tables of compatibility, like the ones on TonyMacx86 (something like that).

It's possible with other boards too, it's just a pain and harder to find help/resources. :)

You're in for quite the adventure my friend. Good luck.

Meh, it's not nearly as hard as it used to be. I know two people who converted their rig into Hackintosh and it's not like before where you would have to forget about the wireless, audio and that sort of thing. But yeah, if you don't like to experiment and debug stuff, it's going to be a pain. :P

(the forums and online help that you now have really helps, too)

Dont know specifically about your board but both my Asus boards have been fine to hackintosh easy as all u do exactly as u would on a gigabyte board except choose different things in the tonymac thing specific to your board u can basically find builds identical to yours if u just search it on tony mac.

Don't use an ASUS motherboard, go with one of these as recommended by the man of Hackintosh, TonymacX86:

These give you the least headaches.

Thank you very much I'll look into it..

I just finished my first hankintosh today, my system specs are

Asus Maximus VI Hero

Intel Core i7 4770k

Corsair H105

16 GB Corsair Vengance Pro 1600 Mhz

Asus GTX 780 Directcu ii OC

128 GB Corsair Force GS SSD

Corsair AX 860i

Corsair 750 D

Asus VH238H 23' Monitor

I had zero issues, i used a guide from tonymacx86 and all is well, had to use a couple drivers and install 2 boot flags. I also used clover for my boot loader the clover configerator is very simple to use. Hope all goes well for you.
