Hey, I need a new pc for cs2 since my laptop is not able to run it anymore.

Whats ur opinions on this build?

Ryzen 5 36000

Thermalright Assassin King 120 SE

Aerocool Trinity Mini

Msi B450m A pro max (2xDDR4 slots)

32GB Teamgroup 3600Mhz Ram (Or should I go for 16GB? I went with 32 because the mainboard only has two ddr4 slots and later I wouldnt be able to add an extra 16GB.)

1TB Crucial P3

FSP Dagger Pro 550W

GPU: I thought of a used GTX1660 Super. U can find them for around 100€ here. Would love other recommendations.

Everything without the gpu costs me 350€. With the GPU 450€. Is it good? Will only play cs2 on 720p low.

I see not budget cap so free reign. Something like this. Gonna need fast CPU to max 1080p performance. RAM to give you the best shot at it. GPU powerful enough: Cooling should give you headroom as well as come with all fans already.

You're purchasing a used build by the looks of it.  How much are they charging you for that PC?

Because "budget & value oriented PC" is severely subjective and dependent on your financial conditions. I can argue that 700 euro for a system ill keep for 3 years of gaming is right on the money for budget system because that would come out to 226 euros a year of ownership. Cheaper than console and its yearly membership costs across the same timespan.

But if someone else is stuck with mere 450-500 euro due to their circumstances, id look like a dickhead trying to give 1000 euro system if i dont ask them whether they can spare their money to save that far.

Thats why when people ask "budget?" in ANY public discourse, its because what people think is cheap or expensive differs from one and another.

To some, that is "budget." Different people have different financial situations and standards.

"Budget" by itself is so subjective as to be meaningless. Give an actual figure of what you want to spend and then people can give you meaningful advice.

You don't improve your odds of getting help when you show up and immediately start insulting the whole forum, though.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

To spend 450eur and desire to play at 720p on low would be a pretty big waste of money. At least build a system that can get 60fps for 1080p.

1280x960 is the way to play cs. And a 1660super will probably get me 60 fps for sure. Ur just mad and dont even know what ur talking about. To say that I should play 1080p. Why does it matter to you?

That is tragically common especiallly for 4:3 FOV user that plays at 1024*768.

Would you look at that, as i typed it, he confirmed my suspicion, 5:4. I gave up on trying to get CS people switch to 16:9 like in Apex, Siege, Fortnite (until they implemented 16:9 lock), and stopping Valorant people from even trying, because aspect ratio preference is already dug deep.

In that case yes, get the fattest CPU you can and run a GTX 1060 to the dust. I know even CS2 can run 720p low on that thing, all you need to solve is Source 2 CPU bottleneck.

But ill assume 500-650 euros as the shot we talk here?

Oh I do to but at least my PC can run the game at 1080p 360fps if I want to, let alone at 720p. Just saying setting 720p 60fps as the target performance is extremely backwards in 2023. Maybe in 2013 we could have agreed on that. In a way with CS2 I'm trying to use 1080p and get away from the old days. Still feels weird with everything being so small.

600€.

@CS2_In_Need listen, fast CPU to get you loaded and running well on that GHz dependant game:

i7 - 9700K - 150eur

Dark Rock 4 - 30eur

MSI Z370 - 52eur

2 x 16GB 3600MHz RAM - 26eur

New 1TB M.2 - 39.99eur

5700XT - 51eur

Dark Base 900 - 32eur

I never recommend a used PSU so just a new one - 84.90eur

Coming to a total of: €465.89 right now.

Of course as they're auctions so I'd add a comfy 100-150eur as some people will try to snipe parts like these. Will even get you playing something Roblox or Fortnite at 1080p 90+fps for a 2010 resolution.

Now ur just waffling around. Can u pls tell me how a Gtx1660 super is only supposed to get 60fps. In cs2 you can get over 200fps in 4:3 with a gtx1050ti and 1060. and ur build reccomendation is trash. Why should I get a 9700k for 150€ if a 12100f is better and only 85€ new. Pls just stop

If you reread what I wrote maybe then it'll click for you. Have a go, words aren't hard. I'll wait.

And here I thought you had a budget restriction, you're acting like you already have a 1660S...

Now I've got you thinking about configurations. Let's go. With that newer CPU you could save on cooling (tho Dark Rock 4 is a good price regardless) and more likely to have a surviving motherboard, tho they will be more expensive raising the price back up. Same price 5-10% more fps.
