A Hoverbike by 2017

Who has $85 000 lying around for this new cool toy? :)

Acourding to Aerofex if you do have this kind of cash, you can purchase the "Aero-X"  and hover around 3m off the ground, and up to 72kph for approx just over an hour drving/flying/hovering (what ever you wish to call it).

They are planning to ship them by 2017 and a $5000 depoisit is required to secure one and be amongst the first to have one.

Linus, please review this.. :)

I guess if it where to be used on our roads; no more street sweepers??

It's basically two giant fans pushing air towards the ground to let you 'fly' or 'hover'. Nothing new. Also, I don't think this would be very suitable for practical use, as the open bladed design of those fans looks potentially dangerous. Interesting to see what the noise levels would be.

Sorry for the convoluted speech pattern.

Well i would totally dont think about the pottentionaly dangerous fants because for sure there will be some safety net from iron or something (just they didnt render it because it looks wierd).

However .. Market with automobiles will not be as dumb as the mobile phone market.  I am referencing to battery life = kilometers per charging.

even if you are the most badass kid in a block  and you father is a billionare.  Who the hell would like the hoverbike .. which will travel 72 km/h . for one hour . :D And then what ?

If your hoverbike will suddenly shut down , and you will be in a middle of city, with totally drained battery and no mechanic (hoverbikes doesnt have wheels/tires) to just push it to home.

So you will stand in a middle of city with a piece of technology that cost 85 000 $ and nothing to do with it ..  (prepare for being robbed)

Waste of money alert! If it could go for the same length of time as a normal motorbike, and could fly high enough to clear a lorry, then it might be worthwhile. Otherwise it's another huvrboard IMO.

I don't think this will work at all especially if they will try to make it road legal. I mean look at the 2 guys in the video; their trousers are going everywhere from the air those blades push down, so now imagine having 2 of those hoverbikes go past each other on a road... They would most likely blow people of their feet for one and probably disrupt each other and potentially crash. If they really want this to be a thing then they really have a lot of work to do.
