Country: Thailand

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hello guys, ok so i am building my first ever pc and these are the components ryzen 5 5600x, gtx 1060 6gb, wd black sn770, kingston fury beast ddr4 (8gb),msi a520m-a pro, and for the psu i have decided on "COOLER MASTER MWE 650 BRONZE - V2 230V - 650W 80" however i have seen a lot of other forums saying how bad non modular psu can get so can you recommend me a semi modular psu of the same price range? the budget is 2000baht (in this time is 57.15 USD) and i dont mind decreasing the wattage to like 600 or even 550 since i got the 650W because i wanted to upgrade gpu. Thank you.

Other than having extra cables getting in the way, there is nothing  wrong with a non-modular PSU. Since non-modular models are less expensive to manufacture they can offer better value.

The MWE Bronze V2 is a Tier B (see https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/) model. Good choice for a budget build.

In most markets memory prices are falling. Since prices are usually lower on high volume kits, take a look at 2x16GB and 2x8GB pricing.

Consider a better motherboard. Perhaps a B450 model like the ASRock B450M PRO4 R2.0 (the BIOS level must be verified for compatibility with the CPU.) There may also be some affordable B550 motherboards.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

thank you, but i am on an extreme budget since this is my first build i also have to save money for a monitor which is draining the budget. the mb i chose was the cheapest one i could find that fit my budget ill consider upgrading in the future. asrock b450m pro4 is a little too expensive 😞

Did you consider a less expensive CPU like the 5600?

ok so i went thru a few reddit threads and realized that the difference is almost negligible so i will go for the 5600 instead but the money saved will still not be enough for the mb you suggested. also i wanted to know if the MSI A520M-A pro had anything wrong with it / not good enough for 5600?

If the difference isn't enough to improve the motherboard stick with the 5600X.
