Hey guys,

I wanted to add mobile data capability to my Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-52), and I don't really know what I need for that. I have a free M.2 PCIe3 Slot available, but I don't know which parts I need to get that to work. I have a normal data SIM card which would provide the carrier info that the system might need.

Therefore, my question is: what would be the best hardware for me to get LTE/5G on my Acer?

With kind regards, OneAutumnSheath

To do this without an external device, your laptop will need to have a WWAN port along with the appropriate antennas.

If your laptop does not have this, you will need a USB adapter that converts the m.2 WWAN/LTE card to USB. (like this one). After that, you will need to appropriate software to enable the use of the cell network, but that is where my knowledge on the subject ends.
