New PC won't POST, VGA and Boot light are on on the MOBO

Hello,

As the title says, I've recently built a new PC, this is my second time building my own pc from scratch and the first time went flawlessly, however this time I can't get it to POST. All lights turn on and all fans are spinning, but the GPU fans stop spinning once the VGA light goes on.

The specs are:

Ryzen 5 7600X

ASRock B650M pro RS

Gigabyte aero RTX 4060 ti

750W gigabyte PSU

2x 16GB DDR5 G-skill Ram

Lian Li 240mm AIO

2 TB Kingston m.2 NVME

I've tried reseating all parts, and cables, multiple times

Only 1 ram stick at a time, in multiple different slots

A different GPU

Resetting CMOS

Different MOBO

Any help would be appreciated

How much time did you wait with PC powered on?

Not English-speaking person, sorry, I'll make mistakes. If you're kind, maybe you'll be able to understand.

If you're really kind, you'll nicely point that out so I will learn more about write in good English.  🙂

Its the same version but a different motherboard, so both are the ASRock B650M Pro RS, from what I can tell there shouldnt be compatibility issues with the motherboard so the issue could only be if it was faulty.

OK. So.

As far as I read, first releases of Ryzen 7000 took a way too long time for memory training (finding the right combination of voltage, timing, speed, whatever). Subsequent AGESA releases helped reduce the time. IDK which version bios have your mainboard, neither you. But unless your CPU is not correctly inserted (doubt it) or scr3wed (i cannot say from here)... maybe you should power on your PC... then... go to do something else for... more time. 15 minutes?

Or use another ram set...

I've checked the CPU, seating, as well as pins in the mobo and no issues there, so I'll try just leaving it on for a while, hopefully that'll work.

It's been on for over an over now, no change, perhaps the ram is faulty

Sorry for the current status. Also did you already take a read on the mainboard about the meaning of the leds and correct positioning of the ram sticks, am I correct?

Also, as a test, you can put only one stick.

One way to diagnose GPU problems is to boot without a GPU and use the video connector on the motherboard. All AMD CPUs of the 7000 series have integrated graphics and should provide video output without a GPU.

As for compatibility, even the first BIOS released should support the 7600X. But in case you wish to update the BIOS (newer versions seems to have better RAM compatibility), you can always do it with the QuickFlash feature that allows to flash the BIOS without a CPU, GPU and RAM insatalled.

Here's a link to the BIOS page if needed https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B650M Pro RS/index.asp#BIOS

Good luck !

I did read the motherboard guide and the ram are placed correctly, I've also tried only putting in 1 stick at a time in different locations.

Quickflash might be a lifesaver if it's "simply" a bios issue...

memory training can take hours..

disconnect everything except the essentials.. and leave it on a few hours.
