Help with CPU purchase

Hi all,

 

I am looking to purchase a new CPU, from the Ryzen 5 2600 for about £120 (USD$150 ish).

I am stuck between the Ryzen 5 5600X, Ryzen 5 5600, Ryzen 5 5600 and Ryzen 7 3800X.

 

Would going with Ryzen 3000 be a deal breaker for bang for buck compared to 5000?

Which CPU should I go for?

Can you afford a 5700X?

 

Skip the 5600G and the 5500.

The 5600 and 5600X have about the same performance, out of those two get the cheaper one.

The 3800X holds the price, but it's not worth spending over a 3700X and the 5700X beats them both.

Ryzen 5600 at 120 pounds on Amazon is probably good choice.

 

If you want something with integrated graphics,  AMD Ryzen Pro 4750G is around $165 on eBay and is better than 5500 or 3xxx processors. Has higher stock frequencies.  5650G is around $170

 

5600 and 5600x would be better because you have pci-e 4.0 lanes and you have more L3 cache but they're a bit more expensive.

The main uses is simulation gaming and racing games, like MSFS2020 and Forza Horizon 5, with some Cyberpunk thrown in as well

that one is quite a good Motherboard, it probably can handle even some faster than 5600x CPUs

How far are you in terms of budget to get a 5800X3D? The performance delta between it and 5700X (5800X is the same CPU, it just has a higher power limit allowing more boost on stock settings) in a lot of simulation title is night and day. Here's Assetto Corsa Competizione for example.
