Performance tanked after changing cases

Go to solution Solved by Surge0n,

For anyone that stumbles upon this;

I switched cases again to my old one and the problem was fixed.

What did the trick I think was the fact that my GPU was not seated perfectly in the Lian Li case. This was not my fault as I tried to replicate the issue and in fact my GPU straight up DID NOT FIT in the case.

The way I figured it out was while disassembling the Lian Li build, I did not need to unlach the GPU and it came apart on its own.

So if you have the same issue, the Lian Li O11 Dynamic is simply not compatible with the Evga Rtx 3080 Ti FTW3.

Thanks @PcBeExpensive for trying to help!

Hi guys, I swapped cases from a Corsair Crystal 570x to a Lian Li O11 Dynamic and my performance tanked.

Specs:

Mobo: MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon

GPU: Evga RTX 3080 Ti FTW3

CPU: Intel i9-9900K

PSU: Corsair RM850x

Everything was great on the other case, now every game struggles.

I did a fresh windows install hoping that would fix it but nothing, I'm not thermal throttling.

CPU stays at 5.0Ghz, GPU clocks and memory seem fine, temps also fine.

I've checked all the settings I can think of both in game and Nvidia Control Panel. Still lost.

The only change that happened was that I used a riser to vertically mount my GPU and then removed it thinking it was part of the problem; it wasn't.

Appreciate the help

Did you unseat the CPU cooler or something like that making it thermal throttle? Did you accidently damage the back of the motherboard?

My First PC
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
Cooler: Asus TUF Gaming LC240
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B550-f gaming
RAM: 4x8 GB Corsair Vengeance RS (3200 MHz, CL16)
Storage: 1tb Samsung 980 Pro
Graphics Card: Asus Dual RTX 2060 OC
Case: Deepcool Matrexx 50
Power Supply: Corsair RM650x
Headset: Razer Blackshark V2
Keyboard: Corsair K70 Pro Mini (Speed Silver switches)
Mouse: Razer Viper Mini
Only changes I have made is I sold the 2060 for $235 AUD and bought a Powercolor Red Devil 6700 XT for $400 second hand (it was barely used, think I scored a deal on Ebay with that).
I'm learning video editing and trying to get some cash as a high school student.
I like F1, my favourite team is Scuderia Ferrari and favourite driver is Charles Leclerc. Favourite track is Red Bull Ring in Austria.
Playing with a 1080p 60hz monitor right now, hoping to upgrade to a 1440p 144hz one soon.

Living in AU and that pisses me off since every event is late at night or early in the morning (almost every F1 race starts around 11 PM AEST time)

I did not unseat the CPU cooler, my temps are fine even under stress tests. As for the motherboard, I haven't seen anything that would indicate I damaged it.

So its only during the game when this issue happens? Is it just one game? If it is try re-installing the game or if it's multiple try re-installing windows.

Yeah in game only. I did a fresh windows install but it didn’t change anything. I’ll delete and reinstall the games but I doubt it will do anything.
