Nvidia cooling sytems/covers

So I have a Nvidia Palit 770. My friend has a 770 Nvidia version with the shiny green and silver stuff on it, He doesn't want the cover that came with it because he put a CPU cooler on his and I was wondering can I put any cover on mine or does it have to be the Palit one?

You can't exchange shrouds meant for different coolers without extensive modding (meaning also loss of warranty), sorry.

Okay so taking off the shroud will void the warranty if I wanted to put on a different cooler?

Unless it's too late, you could take the Nvidia version from him and he could use the Palit one and put a CPU cooler on that.
