Hey.

I have a siemens hmi 4000 comfort panel that runs win cc. It doesnt have remote access and the tia portal software doesnt work because i dont have the original project. Theres literally no way to use it remotely BUT it does usb and i can use a mouse with it. Is there a way i can connect to the usb port remotely so i can use a mouse at home with a camera literally facing the screen? Camera is easy but having a remote usb device where i cant install software is a pain. I need something that is self contained and is actual hardware. Its not pretty at all but all i need to do is click one thing on screen to reset it and save me driving for hours would be awesome. Id obviously be using a normal pc at the other side

Was hoping for something user friendlyish. The raspberry pi and other controllers like that make my brain have a sezure trying to work them out. I dont have much experience with them. Was hoping for something like a smart switch that is just plug and play lol

The other IP KVMs exist, though they're also going to be an order of magnitude more money. You can buy a fully setup PiKVM that you just plug in and configure, they're actually not that complex to setup unless you're trying to build one from scratch, plus they have extensive documentation with all your questions answered.

Something like that will almost certainly be your best option, I'm not aware of any other type of box that gives you a virtual mouse than an IP KVM, and the PiKVM is the cheapest way to do it by a country mile.
