Not surprised

Not surprised that Disney is going to crack down on password sharing like Netflix. Once one does something they all seem to do it. Of Course they are raising prices. All the services raising prices are going to become unsustainable. I won't be surprised is several streaming services go under in the next few years. Because they can't collectively raise prices and not expect consequences. The economy is still in a funny place (not ha ha funny either), as long as thats the case I think people will tighten their belts and sub to less services. On top of the fact with the Writers/Actors strike less content is going to be coming out which means they reason to sub to these services as the value is not there.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

I guess, for me, the concern is what their price hikes actually achieve.  I've had Disney+ since it came out and I honestly use it less than most any other service.  When there's something I want to see on there, I really want to see it.  But when I have, I'm kind of done with going into the app for the next month or two.  Some of their big releases appear to be showing diminishing returns on quality/audeince reaction, so I don't know if this is great timing for asking for more money.  Maybe if/when they combine all of Hulu's content with it, but until then...  It may be what gets me to cut them off for a while.

Adding a lot of the Fox Catalogue (Under Stars or whatever branding they're using) did help a lot - there's a lot of good older content on there now, but there's still a massive amount of the Fox Catalogue missing still.

We don't get Hulu in Canada, so if they added the Hulu content to D+ that would be awesome.

I don't necessarily have a HUGE problem with the password sharing being disallowed, but they need to make sure that they aren't pissing off legitimate users, such as those traveling (especially if you travel for a living).

But cracking down on password sharing PLUS price hikes is just going to alienate a large portion of the customer base.

Between the password crackdown and the price hikes they pretty much made themselves have less value for their customers. Its going to get to a point I sub for 1 month once a year and just binge all the shows. Same applies to most of these services. Its like they didn't learn from the cable companies, continue to raise prices while not adding value all your going to do is drive your customers away. The fact they charge for ad supported tiers pisses me off, because if its ad supported it should not costs anything.

Its getting to a point Ill probably get back in to gaming for as long as I can afford it and maybe invest in some books. I dont live far from the local library.

just use google. any show you want to watch and put a 123 after it in the google search bar. assuming your computer is secured. i recommend, Symantec endpoint protection. also use firefox with the ublock and ghostery extentions. pop up blocker (strict) doesn't hurt either.

One Im not touching any piece of software from Symantec, I still have PTSD from Norton Anti Virus from the early 2000s. Secondly Im willing to pay for content as long as I feel im getting value out of it. While I do condone piracy when media companies act like ass hats, I do and am willing to consume content legally. Also being in America with its draconian Copy right laws also doesn't help. Don't need Comcast turning off the internet due to DMCA requests.

Furthermore I have a large back log of games on Steam. So... theres always an alternative and like I said books. Been thinking of picking up The Witcher.

If Verizon gets rid of their Disney bundle then I won't pay for it. Can't remember the last good thing I watched on there. Marvel is hot garbage right now. Tapped out mid season 3 of Mando.

The only sub pricehike I stomached was Youtube premium. You get music bundled and it pays out creators well. Everything else has been yeeted.

5800X3D / ASUS X570 Dark Hero / 32GB 3600mhz / EVGA RTX 3090ti FTW3 Ultra / Dell S3422DWG / Logitech G815 / Logitech G502 / Sennheiser HD 599

2021 Razer Blade 14 3070 / S23 Ultra

Heres the deal with that. They are done with the Co-Katan arc. I think season 4 will go back to its roots of like season 1.

I dont find that to be of value to me. I dont care about the music. I have an AM/FM radio in my car which works fine. If they would have a cheaper just Youtube without ads tier I would probably subscribe. But instead I use Ad Blocker for as long as Ad blocker works.

Hopefully. After Book of Boba Fett I didn't have much hype. Tried to watch S3 and it was just... meh. Then again, I was one of the 10 people that enjoyed Kenobi. It had some rough moments, but overall I thought it was a cool mini series.

Personally I can't stand ads or breaks in music. When we get new cars in at work we have to drive them a few miles and gas them up after inspecting them. I usually throw on XM radio. I've rage shut off the radio multiple times due to the stupid radio hosts going on about some stupid story nobody cares about. Its like listening to a GTA radio station without being satirical.

Spotify is blocked at work for some ungodly reason (not to mention they just hiked their prices too). Hate the apple music layout. Youtube music isn't great quality wise... and their curated playlists are trash compared to Spotify. As an addendum to Youtube premium though, I will deal with it. I watch more Youtube than TV now thanks to premium and not having to deal with ads. I'd be completely TV sub free if it weren't for sports living in the stone age.

same with me. Norton was a scam. but Symantec endpoint is like for servers or something like that. i use to work for a tech heavy media company that peddled porno, and they used this for their own security. that's where i found out about it and been using it myself ever since. i haven't found anything better.

Another thing to keep in mind is that most Libraries have a large Movie/TV Collection (Usually DVDs but many libraries have Blu-Rays too, especially if they buy the combo pack with both). And they even have access to digital media through apps like Libby and Canopy.
