Hello, I'm building my first mid end-ish PC and I'm a bit lost on what to do for fan intakes/exhausts, the case I'll be using is a "Mancer Goblin" (Popular case in Brazil) and can have 2 fans in the front, 2 fans in the top, and 1 fan at the back, I'll be using a AIO Masterliquid ML240L V2 (240mm) for my CPU, and I have a set of 3 Aerocool Duo 12 fans, what would the optimal fan configuration be?

PC Specs are:
7800X3D
RTX 3080 Ti 12GB (Gigabyte Vision)
32GB CL40 4800Mhz (2x16)
700W Gold EVGA PSU
2x 1Tb M.2 Gen 4 SSDs

Thanks :D.

I'd run the AIO as front intake.  It'll breathe fresh air in, and then 3 fans can help pull the warm air out of the case.

Some like to bring in fresh air for the GPU, really depends what net cooling you prefer.

i'm thinking AiO up top as exhaust if possible, because:

- that guarantees the pump is at the very lowest part of the loop, see GN's video about being nitpicky about AiO pump wear

- it'll let you front intake/rear exhaust the rest with as little resistance as possible, meaning loads of air for the GPU.

- honestly, wether you put it in the front or up top, the end result is probably the same.

Alrighty, but I heard that it's good to have positive pressure, would the difference in the fans CFM be enough? I'm afraid the radiator may cause a bit of resistance, the 3x Aerocool fans are 33,4 CFM while the 2x Coolermaster ones have 62 CFM, Being 100,2 Exhaust and 124 Intake (Not considering radiator restrictiveness), would that be good?

That's good to know! I don't want to have problems with my AiO in the future so I'll definitely use it at the top then! can I use the 3x 33,4 CFM fans as exhaust and 2x 62 CFM as intake? that would be positive pressure which is good I've heard

But for that I have another question, can I use other fans with the AiO than the ones that came with it?

just so you're not getting fearmongered into something - you wont "kill" the AiO by putting it in the front, but if after many years some of the water has evaporated out, things can become suboptimal.

that aside, you can use any fan for the aio, but ideally you use fans that are "static pressure" optimized (big blades = static pressure, many smaller blades = airflow) because a radiator is a lot of resistance for airflow.

Apologies, meant to say I would use the CoolerMaster fans as intake at the front, and use other fans for the AiO.

I’ll take a look into that then, thanks!
