Sanyo model 2414 help

So my grandmother gave me this radio. Now it was bought for my dad when he was born so its almost 50 years old at this point. I live in Romania and I can’t find someone to repair it. Its volume wheel isnt working and both its string that changes the radio frequency and the band for the cassette player is gone. Where could I repair it? A new one goes for 1900 dollars, and i want to repair it for my dad’s birthday as a gift.

You can buy rubber loops from eBay and other stores that sell such spare parts. You can replace the rubber yourself if you're extra careful.

If you find some little store or shop that repairs watches, such person may be willing to help you out as they're used with fine details, small screws, stuff like that.

You  can probably find service manual online that can be extra helpful.
