Backup battery advice needed?

APC uses off-the-shelf lead-acid batteries, pull the battery out, pull the label off (APC sticks their label over the manufacturer's specs) and order the same battery as is in there originally.

 

from a quick google it appears to be the same design as is in mine, just bog standard 7.2Ah lead-acid batteries, two of them in series to make a 24v pack:
