Newly built pc not registering gpu

After finally building my first pc, everything is working other than that it wont detect my gpu (rtx 3060) instead it registers in device manager as "Microsoft 870", I have tried close to everything i can think of. Moving the gpu into a different slot, no red light on the motherboard. Checked the cables are seated fine, nothing works! Any suggestions on what i can do?

What make and model is the GPU?

Did you install the drivers for it from the manufacturer?

Ok, yeah so from your pictures it's just set up with the generic Microsoft drive which is setup by Windows on a fresh install of Windows by default.

You'll need to install Nvidia GeForce Experience and install the latest driver for the GPU GeForce Experience will automatically detect the correct driver an help you install it. Once installed you will need to restart the system. 

You will also want to get the up to date drivers for your motherboard and other hardware in the system from their manufacturer webpages as well.

It said at first that my windows isnt compatible, im windows 10 home but it isnt activated.

So it looks like(judging from the edge logo in the picture) you installed a very outdated version of Windows 10. Which depending on how outdated it is, may not be compatible with the new drivers from Nvidia.

 

If you go to the About Your PC tab in Windows settings it will tell you which version of 10 you are running. If it's out of date you will need to update your Windows 10 to the latest version. Then try the driver update again.

Specs of the system?

 

Sure you've not connected the monitor to the iGPU (motherboard) but the GPU?

 

Why do you lack the other drivers, forgot to install drivers (any)?

 

If you don't know a thing about drivers, maybe try something like Iobit Driver Booster. Just make sure to deselect everything else during the installation.

Why does it say your Game Ready Driver is from 2021?
