thats the temporary current part i put for installing the windows

still waiting for my AIO to arrive

motherboard is ASUS TUF b760 plus wifi d4. i forgot to list it there

Have you verified your drive is plugged into a SATA port AND has power ran to it from the power supply? There should be 2 cables plugged into the drive itself.

 

I'm also assuming you do not have a m.2 drive installed. (If you do, check your mobo manual as installing m.2 drives usually disables a few SATA ports in exchange.)

 

If you DO have both cables plugged in. Unplug and plug them back in, trying a different port on the mobo and verify you have the right cable plugged into the power supply.

 

Lastly, was the drive new out of the box or a used drive?

It’s a bios setting. You have to set the drive in ahci mode. It shouldn’t be in raid mode.

 

Youll want to go into the advanced section, and set the pch storage mode to ahci instead of raid. I don’t have your board and the documentation around this is garbage, but that’s the general idea.
