WarpedBugle

I recently got a 4070 ti and it is supposed to be way faster than the 3070 I have however the performance is about the same if not barely better any ideas to get it up to speed?\

we dont have crystal balls here, youll need to give more info if you want anyone to give you good advice

- your pc specs

- what games

- what settings

use benchmark programs to compare against other 4070 ti cards, check reviews and try to run the same benchmark they did and compare

MSI GX660 + i7 920XM @ 2.8GHz + GTX 970M + Samsung SSD 830 256GB

^This, but also what temps is your graphics card running at?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

This can be because of various factors.

First of all, check if you have a sufficient psu to power the gpu. I reccomend at least a 750W/850W

Are you running other programs parallel to your games?

Did you insert the GPU in the fastest PCIe slot on your Mobo?

Or maybe, your CPU (please reply with your specs as well.) is bottlenecking your system.

Also, you should probably DDU your drivers if you didn't do that before removing your old gpu. Chance is they're still running and you need to install the ones for your gpu.

Unless you used to be GPU limited (100% GPU load while in the game) then a GPU upgrade won't do anything. What is the GPU load with the new GPU? If it's not at pretty much 100% then you are most likely CPU limited.

Seeing a CPU limit is much harder because most games can't fully utilize a modern CPU so you can be CPU limited at 50% load or even less. You just have to have the rule of thumb that if the GPU is not at 100% load then you just assume that you are CPU limited.
