Honestly I might just be better of buying a second hand LRDIMM ecc sever kit, what do you think?

Not 100% sure on X99's compatibility with LRDIMM. It supports RDIMM, but LRDIMM may not work.

As for PCPP, it's typicaly pretty bad with memory compatibility on older boards, especially with Xeons. Both the board and CPU should suport 32GB DIMMs.

Hi,

I'm looking at buying a 4x32 gb set soon but when I went to do the first check for compatibility on pcpartpicker it doesn't show any 32 gb stick based kit, can't find anything on the motherboards or cpus info pages about limiting to below 32gb sticks. Am I missing something or is pcpartpicker in the wrong??

Current build:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WkcLW4

Current CPU:

https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/81903/intel-xeon-processor-e52650l-v3-30m-cache-1-80-ghz.html

Current Motherboard:

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/X99A-TOMAHAWK/Specification

Kit I'm looking at:

https://www.gskill.com/product/165/184/1571733266/F4-2666C18Q-128GVK

And yes I know that my CPU only supports up to 2133 MT/s memory but the kit I have now also has a max of 2666 MT/s and that has worked fine for like 10 years now.

Thanks for the help 🙂
