Professional earbuds

stefanmz

Hi! So I need to find some really good sounding earbuds. I have a pair of Audiotechnica ATH M70X professional headphones.  Not saying the earbuds need to be professional but  I would like for them to sound similarly to the Audiotechnica. Because previously I tried to find good sounding earbuds by other  criteria, so  I found them and they don't sound as good as the Audiotechnica.  So that's the criteria.  They need to sound like the Audiotechnica because I like that sound so they need to sound as good as them. My budget is 250 dollars max, preferably less. So anyone know of anything that can match the description? Oh by the way I prefer wireless but if it isn't possible then wired is fine.

The most "professional" earbuds I know of are 64 Audios
https://www.64audio.com/collections/universal-iems

But they're expensive, this is typically what performers use to monitor their own sound while singing etc. doesnt solve your problem, but I figured Id toss it here uincase anyone was interested. I think a couple Twitch streamers use them too e.g. Lvndmark

Yeah I think I have seen them somewhere.  They are awesome but that might be a good upgrade once I get a good job so I can afford them 😄. For now I will have to stick to my budget.

I guess you're looking for IEM-s (In Ear Monitors).

Google "audio technica ath-m70x frequency response". Then google "IEM_name frequency response" and choose the one out of those that has the most similar sound.

+1 for the Dunu Kima's

Hell, even the Dunu Titan S's sound awesome if you want to save a buck.

I'm personally not a fan of the M70x's, but from memory the 7hz x Crinicle Dioko's should sound similar with that pronounced bass

You could check out the Sennheiser IE 200. They should be within budget and have a fairly neutral sound signature.

If you enjoy pronounced bass. Check out the Jabra 75t. Truly wireless in ears. I've had some crappy wireless earbuds in the past but these have been solid for years and hopefully more years to come with near-daily use.

Thanks! To everyone for the help and replies! To you specifically That's a genius idea about the frequency response and I will check out those earbuds that you listed.

I will I have heard very good things of them.  They are actually one of my top picks right now from my own research.

Budget IEM's are getting better each year.  I'd caution spending hundreds of dollars on an IEM, when in a year or 2, a $50 IEM might beat it.

PC Build: R5-1600.  Scythe Mugen 5.  GTX 1060.  120 GB SSD.  1 TB HDD.  FDD Mini C.  8 GB RAM (3000 MHz).  Be Quiet Pure Wings 2.  Capstone-550.  Deepcool 350 RGB.

Peripherals: Qisan Magicforce (80%) w/ Gateron Blues.  Razer Naga Chroma.  Lenovo 24" 1440p IPS.  PS4 Controller.

Audio: Focusrite (Solo, 2nd), SM57, Triton Fethead, AKG c214, Sennheiser HD598's, ATH-M50x, AKG K240, Novation Launchkey

Wishlist: MP S-87, iPad, Yamaha HS5's, more storage

There's an app that you can download (optional) but will allow you to EQ the bass/mids/treble. So if by default, the earbuds have a little too much bass, you can simply EQ the bass down so it's not as pronounced. Likewise, you can always boost certain frequencies as well if necessary.

Hey by the way do you know if it matters on which website I check the frequency response curve. I am currently looking at curves in crinacle.com, sound guys and rtings. but the curves differ for each website, so should I keep checking alll of them or should I just choose one and check there?

hey so I checked a lot of headphones. The closest to the ATH-M70x's frequency response graph are and they are my top favorites for now: OnePlus Buds Pro, Beats Fit Pro and Sennheiser IE200. Obviously the most balanced are the IE200''s and maybe I will like them best but they have more recessed high-end and mid, yes it is balanced they don't have a lot of bass which is good but the ATH-M70x's have a quite emphasized mid and high-end. The other two models that I liked which I stated here which are also wireless, and the IE200 are wired, the other favorites have a lot more mids and high-end and not  a lot of bass but they dip quite harshly near 10k and the IE200's don't. Also the bass of the beats is more pronounced than the OnePlus Buds but it's not too much I think, it dips quite fast it doesn't go for too long so it shouldn't eat the other frequencies. These are my conclusions, what do you think? Out of those three models, what do you think based on the graphs? Here are the graphs, all from Soundguys because this is the only website that has the three of them and I think I should share results from the same source for consistency. I did check crinacle, rthings  and other sources for all headphones but I am sharing from soundguys because they have all three models that are my favorites for now.
