amd or intel?

im deciding which to go for, for my mediocre gaming build..

fx 6300 6 core @ 3.5 ghz and 4.9 ghz over clock

or

i5 3330 quad core @ 3ghz?

 

 

my opinion, the i5's intergrated graphics is cool and all but i dont think it will affect me greatly because im wanting to run

a hd 7750 2gb ddr3 gpu (not the best but suitiable for my money).

 

the fx 6300 is practically brute force for running games, if i went with this id luck out when i try to use photo shop according to the reviews ive seen

if you are on a tight budget then go for fx-6300

If you can afford it get an I5 or an I7, if you can't get an AMD, the performance is still very good.

Between those two the FX6300 all the way. I would also suggest saving up and getting a 7770 since it is doing crazy good for its price point.

might do that, was going to get a more expensive motherboard, 167 NZD instead of 98 NZD looks nicer but if the 7770 is gonna be good for a reasonable price then sure why not!

The HD7770 is a sure bang for the buck

You also might want to wait on Haswell to be released which is due here pretty soon before you decide on the CPU. If you're too impatient to wait, AMD usually has a decent track-record for forward/backwards compatibility with their sockets.

The i5 will probably perform better, but is likely a fair bit more expensive, considering the cost of the motherboard.

My vote goes to the 6300 or 6350

Go with Intel if you want the fastest gaming performance but if you have a need for more threads for multithreaded applications go for the AMD core even though it wont be quite as fast. The AMD CPU will still do just fine.

I think is better for you to get i5 2500K and GTX 560 ti oc, it will cost you about 250€ to 300€, and you will get good performance with that is 100% much better than integrated GPU.

I would go with the AMD because it offers the best price to performance ratio. If you want the best performance, I would save some money and get a 3570k.

The FX series is a good one, but you gotta know that it wont be quiet, it will make a lot of noise! where the intel's CPU will be more or less (it depends on what you wanna do) the same in performance, well its up to you, what you wanna do.. gaming? editing? home use? good luck with your choice and your new machine anyways!
