Hey guys I need your help as to which of these 2 is a better purchase. I was able to find a deal for a Pixel 7 w/256gb @~555usd while for the oneplus 11 w/256gb @~630usd.
I am a bit worried regarding the overheating issue of the pixel 7 because of the high ambient temperature of where I live. Meanwhile on the oneplus I am kind of worried about it being region locked but I was able to talk to the seller and they told me that it can be region unlocked for free but they don't know if this will affect the phones performance. This will be my first time trying out a phone from either brand. All I know as of the moment based on reviews is that the oneplus is faster w/ the sd gen 2 and a 100w charger but the pixel produces better photos and has a cleaner os

I been using Oneplus since 7 now using a 9. I'm certainly biased.

So far I did found Oneplus had regressed a little regarding software cleaness, a shared opinion, which made it lost the Halo...

But I probably will still choose the Oneplus 11 if I break my phone today.

Have you tried both phone in a phone store/cell service provider store?

unfortunately no, since they are only available through online purchase here in the Ph. Do you have any idea though about the region unlock if it affects the performance of the phones once it gets region unlocked? I can't seem to find anything about the performance comparison of a oneplus 11 before and after region unlocking

When it comes to Pixels, the only value I see to them is with how you can degoogle your phone by installing GrapheneOS on it, with Pixel phones being the only ones supported by it. Honestly I would never even think to touch a Pixel phone. I've never owned one, but I've seen so many people on Youtube talk about how Google's quality control for these phones is absolute shit, with the percentage of shipped phones that have serious or mild defects being among the highest, if not the highest of all android phone manufacturers.

And as for OnePlus, they've gone to absolute shit, as far as I'm concerned. My first OP phone was the OP 7T, which I owned for hardly even a year before upgrading to the 8T (I did love the 7T and had great experiences with it, but the charging port had completely deteriorated and became useless). The 8T was a pretty good phone, and I did like it, but at some point in the last 12 months (don't remember when exactly), I decided to get a different phone.

As for the path OnePlus took with their devices after the 8T, I've heard nothing good about them. I remember a clip from the Wan show where even Linus talked about them. Mentioning that he used to be someone that endorsed them on a personal level, with him not liking what they've become. While I've never owned their later phones, my best bud owns the OnePlus 10whatever, and even I can pick up on just how bad that phone is. For reference, the carrier T-Mobile I believe is the carrier OnePlus fully supports here in the US, with both me and my friend having T-mobile, and he's experienced so many bugs and errors with it. Personally I'm not a fan of how huge that phone is, with it having the surface area of a brick.

The phone I moved to after the OP 8T is the Asus Zenfone 9, which I absolutely love. Asus made a great smartphone, and it completely sold me on their smartphones. I definitely plan on sticking with Asus if/when I'm ready or required to get a new phone.

Unlocking Region basically allows you to use other regions' sim card, at worst you can't use some of 4G 5G bands. So performance wise it's not going to differ much.

@Inception9269

However bad OnePlus was or is, it's signal is still better than iPhones. At a beach I can get still get 3 bar of LTE while people with me can't load bus schedule  information or showing only one bar.

I almost switched to Samsung if they are not so darn expensive here. Nobody sells Asus phone here in Sweden... Haven't seen one on display at least....

Thanks for the insight, I was actually looking at the zenfone 9 too since one of my older phones was the zenfone max pro m1 (I really loved this phone given the very cheap price during that time). However, when I learned that asus still support their phones for at most 2-3 years (youre lucky if it gets to 3), I kind of backed out. As of the Oneplus 10 series I did saw the reviews and actually watched that wan show episode you are referring to and I think he was referring to the oneplus phones before the 11 but I am not really sure. Samsung is way over my budget the S23 cost around 770 usd here in my country for the 128gb model. I am also actually waiting for the nothing phone 2 but I am still skeptical about the company since this will just be their second phone

Nothing phone 1 didn't fair too well and don't go for base model Samsung... It's shit (My BF got a company phone, forgot it's a S22 or 23 but he said it's worse than iPhone 10).

Really it's best you try them out at a phone store and see how they feel and if you like their interface.

Oh I forgot to mention I never used OnePlus warp charge unless a hand full of times I'm in a oinch, never a fan of fast charging given it's also burning battery longevity.

Thats true, the middling sd 778G that they used in the phone 1 was really disappointing and based on the rumors the phone 2 will start at around 799usd. I do want to switch back to samsung but their high price tag is really just you buying the brand then the phone lol. Anyway thanks for the information you gave me.
