Ok, Im moving my minecraft server to a new computer. (Raspberry pi4 to a used dell prebuilt)

And I have enough leftover money in ebay for an SSD, However. All the new options I could see that were cheap look really strange and I'm not sure I'd trust them.

I did find this used SSD but I'm wary, because a server is a high read/write thing and I'm unsure if this SSD will hold up.

Choice

I could just keep running off my samsung usb drive, (64mbs) and call it a day. But I was hoping for something a little faster.

Any thoughts?

SSDs are incredibly cheap right now. The used one is going to cost you $10. For $5 more, get yourself a brand new 256GB one (room to grow) with a warranty and a reputable manufacturer's name on it: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/kh9tt6/silicon-power-a55-256-gb-25-solid-state-drive-sp256gbss3a55s25

Older Kingston drives were bad news. Reviewers were shipped an SSD that was almost nothing like the SSDs actually being sent to retail.

Not necessarily, it could have been the OS drive, in which case it's usage will be effectively nothing. Given how small the capacity is, that's more than likely the role it took, though a cache drive isn't out of the question.

To be fair, you're only going to save $2 with this drive rather than buying a cheap new drive like this one. For the peace of mind and warranty, saving up that extra $2 is probably worth it.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.
