Possible to use Original Launchpad Pro as a Standalone SFX Board?

Go to solution Solved by jaslion,

The launchpad is just a button device that plays whatever is assigned to that button in their software. It always has to be connected to a pc running that software to do that

I recently purchased a Launchpad Pro from eBay on the cheap. When I received it, everything worked fine However, I'm a complete noob when it comes to launchpads. I thought I'd be able to easily use it as a standalone SFX unit where I can load in a certain audio file and then play it back WITHOUT needing to interface with a PC. This does not seem to be the case. After hours of trying to find SOMETHING to help me accomplish this task, there is nothing that says it's possible nor impossible. At least, not that I can find after hours and hours of research.

If anybody could lend me a hand or put me in the right direction, that'd be appreciated.

Also, I didn't know where to put the post in the forum, so I put it under troubleshooting as I'm asking for help.

Dont forget to mark as solution if your question is answered

Note: My advice is amateur help/beginner troubleshooting, someone else can probably troubleshoot way better than me.

However, the pro version can run in a standalone mode. Is it possible to take advantage of this to then perform the desired behavior I described?

Its a standalone sequencer.

It always needs to have some sound input from somewhere or you use 2 tracks it can hold.
