So, on my Alienware 17 R5, I need to remove the BIOS user setup password I forgot eons ago.

I want to determine which of the three BIOS chips hold the password or where a jumper wire is located to short the correct pins via soldering/desoldering.  The only problem I'm having is finding the documentation for this laptop to show which pins do what or what the password reset sequence would be 🤔

Has anyone ever messed with something like this? I scoured the motherboard for possible BIOS chips and found three different chips all manufactured by Winbond.

P.S. I know about the Dell master password option, but they haven't gotten back to me in a while so I'm looking at alternate routes.

There aren't any. (At least not any we can help you with on this forum.)

Open another support ticket with Dell. Make sure you can provide proof of purchase because they'll probably ask for it. If they're confident enough that the laptop isn't stolen, they can generate the master unlock password from your Service Tag.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.
