First of all, hi to y'all!

🙂

So.. anyway..

Yesterday night.. i was playing video games on my PC until 2am.. i shut it down.. and went to sleep..

Today i woke up.. got my coffee.. snd pressed the power button.. only to get..

Black screen display..

No signal coming from GPU..

I recently bought a 2 month old RX6800 from ebay to replace my RX580..

I installed the card.. noticed it had some weird bios.. but worked fine otherwise... i was gaming..stress testing.. card passed it all.. was stable and had good temps..

Today..i opened the case and noticed that the VGA led light is turned on on the EZ debug pannel..

My PC is:

MSI X370 Gaming Pro

Ryen 1600 + stock amd cooler

2x 8GB Corsair DDR4 CL36 3200

Sapphire RX 6800 OC Pulse

Seasonic ssr650fx

What i tried so far:

Change GPU to my old one (RX580)

Remove and reconnect gpu anf cables

Tried switching psu pcie cables

Tried to clear cmos several times

Tried removing and changing ram slots

Tried booting without gpu

Tried new ram

Tried removing everything except cpu+ram+gpu+ssd

Tried booting without gpu

Tried removing cmos battery from pc for a long time

I literally tried everything (without using a different motherboard or new psu ) that i can think of and nothing works..

Taking my PC to a pc repair shop is really expensive where i live.. so i dont want to do that unless its a last option..

Wost thing is.. i literally just got my new 5800x3d and additional 16GB of RAM today.. now i cant even use it..

When i turn on the PC.. everything "works".. CPU, GPU, Case fans.. all spinning..

The only weird thing is that my keyboard nor my mouse get a signal when i start the PC.. they just dont turn on..

My guess.. my motherboard is dead.. why idk..

Could it be the new GPU? PSU?

Any help would would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you all in advance

just for peace of mind, double check your monitor input is set correctly

could be a dead motherboard, its a bit unethical but you can buy a new motherboard and try it and if it doesnt work just return it.

From what I see, it's probably caused by the "new" GPU probably having minor rust shorting wiring that handling PCIe connection on your motherboard, can you borrow some Ryzen APU from someone to test my hypothesis? if it's work without dGPU attached, you definitely need to change your motherboard

It is the same problem with my old RX580 that was in my PC until few days ago..

When i place it instead of RX6800.. same issue..

I even tried using the second PCIE slot..

I know, that's why I asked you to borrow some Ryzen APU to test if using iGPU instead of dGPU works on your motherboard

Dont have anyone to borrow it from here..

Might as well buy a new(used) mb then..

I really hope its not my "new" gpu that fried something..

PC worked normal for several days.. until this morning..

Been trying to fix it for last 6 hrs ffs..

So frustrating..

Did it ever get fixed?

Maybe i wrote this in a way that confuses people..

My PC had RX580 inside of it until few days ago. PC worked normal. No issues whatsoever.

Then i did the latest bios update to prep my X370 for the new X3D cpu.

PC still worked fine..

Then i installed the RX6800 when it arrived and took out the old RX580.

PC booted fine and i did several passes with Heaven 4.0 and the PC was stable. Temps were good too.

Then i played games on it for few days.. worked fine..

Yesterday night i turned it off normaly.. today i woke up.. PC was dead.

In my attempts to diagnoze and fix the issue i also tried replacing RX6800 with my old RX580 to see if changing the GPU to another one that i know works.. would fix the issue.. therefore i would know that the new GPU was causing the problem.

That did not happen.

With the old RX580 i still have the same issue.. aka VGA light on mb is turned on and i cant get my PC to boot up and show image on display..

Now i feel that the main suspect is the motherboard, to be more exact the PCIE slots.. but of course.. i cant be certain..

I just really dont understand why i do not get a signal to my USB mouse nor to my USB keyboard..

Again.. PC looks turned on.. all fans are spinnning (even on GPU, which are normally not spinning unless under heavy load)

Before you buy a bunch of parts, do you have a multi-meter or a PSU tester (they cost around $15 to $25 USD)?  Just you power supply could not be putting enough power out for everything.

Another thing to try is clear CMOS.  I have had to do that before to get a new processor to work.

PSU has more then enough power for everything.. it has enough power for even a much stronger system.

Seasonic with 650W(continuous) at 12v rail..

I think its either the new used GPU i bought on ebay that damaged something or the motherboard died somehow..

But i am not sure..

you did notice, that you plugged your ram into the wrong slot A1 and not into A2.

what else you should try is bios reset. that helped when I thought I broke my motherboard.

Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite,  Ryzen 9 3900x, Dark Rock Pro 4, 16 GB Crucial Ballistix  RGB 3600 MHz CL16 RAM, RTX 3080 TI FE Watercooled, 6 Case Fans,  Fractal Design Meshify S2

You are awesome, stay safe and healthy.

I noticed ;).

What you prob didnt assume is that i already used the same ram module in all 4 slots.. as well the second module in all possible combinations..

Bssically whatever i try.. nothing works..

I am pretty sure at this point that my mb is dead , or at best that the PCIE slots (tried all with 2 differebt gpus) are..

PC not in function for two days now.. really frustrating.
