believe it or not (for 1tb) its the 980 pro Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive (MZ-V8P1T0B/AM) - PCPartPicker

(ok technically there is another drive for 2 bucks less but its from a company called 'Mushkin' and samsung has a reputation for reliability)

Mark the solution as solution

Take my advice with a grain of salt. Not too much tho, we don’t want ourselves getting dehydrated do we?

PC Specs: Black on white, Team Red+Green by Filpo - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, GeForce RTX 3060 12GB, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker

I was smirking until I opened Amazon. Wtf happened to the prices? 980pro actually is "the best value" pick.

Any Samsung M.2s, Kingston FURY Renegade PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSDKC3000 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD, VPR400 RGB PCI-e GEN4 x4 M.2 SOLID STATE DRIVE

Patriot viper VP4300 (I use it)

those are some good ones

Where I usually buy from, cheaper than any of the above, is ADATA XPG GAMMIX S70 BLADE, which is listed under Tier A (Upper High-end)? Is this worth buying instead?

Samsungs are now dropping in price as their previous premium price were not justified by their quality.

They also have massive production capabilities, in-house R&D, vertically integrated supply chain re: SSDs, so their production cost is likely already far lower than other companies without similar setups, and success of WD Black and WD in general, and now seagate I think drives this point home.

Anecdotally, their reputation has being taking a toll around the end of the SATA era, some of their last evo line sata before NVME proliferation was already dropping in reliability. Indeed the entire company seems to have gone downhill and less culturally relevent. Samsung of today is a shadow of it's former Galaxy SII - S6~7 era self. They're still a huge conglomerate and basically runs SK(might as well call it Samsung Korea), but there's nothing special about samsung that i can think of.

They stopped being premium quality, people stopped paying premium prices.

I paid $357 for the 2TB 980 Pro about 2 years ago and it's been as low as $129 lately. Frustrating that I paid so much, but great how much they've come down. mine has been a beast - very pleased with it

Intel Core i7-11700K || Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti || 1TB Corsair MP600 PRO XT & 2TB Samsung 980 Pro || Adata DDR4 3200 4x8GB || Asrock Z590-C/ac

Sometimes ADATA uses Samsung chips sometimes not. As long as the brand is A tier and reputable it should be pretty alright

Can I be certain that ADATA XPG GAMMIX S70 BLADE at least has DRAM and uses 3D NAND?

In my region the best 2TB m.2 SSD for the price 👍

Kingston KC3000 soon after, and the first mentioned Samsung 980 Pro is great too.
