Linus and Jake go on a wild goose chase to equip this amazing SuperMicro server with parts from other vendors. And when they finally fire it up, it's pretty fricken cool!

Trust Linus to get/persuade/cajole various reps and other booth staff to 'lend out' their show case products for an impromptu disassembly on camera! 🙃

Just hope no-one gets fired over Linus' antics! 🙏

I want a 7960X3D xD

Also cool to see something like this considering I built a Ryzen 7000 based server for similar reasons mentioned. Except mine is 1 system not 8 packed into one chassis xD

why no dark mode?

I was going to put a 7800X3D affiliate link here as a joke, but...

This was a good video! Loved the chaotic energy, but I'm surprised they didn't try to source more CPUs and RAM for it. Just think about running that thing full tilt. It had 2 x 2200W PSUs so maybe 500W available per unit (assuming 400W reserved for the base system)? That'd be enough for something wild like 8x ryzen 7800x3d and 8x rtx 4070s if you could somehow do an external watercoloring system to keep the GPUs single slot. Then you would have the perfect 4v4 LAN system or something.

Think if someone used this, and then a 4:1 multiviewer (best example is the A-NeuVideo ANI-PiP-41UHD) to get each team on one TV and set up a classic Halo LAN but using this to host it.

This was a hekkin fun video! It's neat to see all of the crazy tech that these companies bring to trade shows and show off. Can't wait for more/this week's WAN show and hear more tales from Computex.

4 of these blades with GPUs in a workstation form factor that isn't excessively noisy could be an interesting homelab in a box type solution, especially if the blades can be different types, like an ARM blade for low power always on use, both an AMD and Intel x86 high power blade, and maybe a lower power storage focused x86 blade.  Would be nice to have a Gaming, Work, Everyday use and Server box all in one with the ability to mix and match!

Absolutely loved everything about this video. Chaos followed by cameos followed by more chaos.

Bravo
