Good Graphics card for Rendering 4k videos as well as light gaming

Cashmaster

Hey guys,

I was wondering if you could help me find a good graphics card primarily for rendering videos in 4k in davinci resolve (i am an actor and have to shoot tons of self-tapes, since the industry has shifted towards that now.) I also play some light games like warzone (with a few friends casually) and mostly stuff like CK 3 or HOI 4 honestly. I was going to finally buy a new pc and go all out and get a 4090 but honestly i kind of don't want to spend so much money on a graphics card that has not the best value proposition (its like 1.8k euros here...). I also live in Germany if that helps. I was weirdly enough looking at the ARC 770 because of the AV1 encoding (would be good for self-tapes as it keeps the file size down).

Thanks in advance guys :)

Hey. Should we assume the games are played on a 4K display? Or is it just the videofootage that's at that resolution?

There's isn't that much difference between a 4090 and more midrange cards like 3070, nor between AMD and Nvidia cards at the same price

However the A770 sucks...

I'd suggest OP to get something like the 6800xt, less than 600EUR, or the new 4060ti if he absolutely wants Nvidia

Hey thank you for the reply! I guess AMD it is then! I really do not want to give team green any money at this point. The way they price their cards does not sit well with me.

Oh thank you! that is really helpful! Yeah it is going to be a 4K Display! I want to future proof. Part of me kind of wants to wait for the next generation hardware (to then maybe scoop up some nice sales or something), hence the cheaper ARC with more RAM.

ARC are really not powerful enough for any 4k gaming...if you want performance at decent price on the mid range go AMD 6700 to 6950
