Optimizing computer performance using only 1 HDD

Is there way to optimize the performance of the computer if it only has one storage unit for everything, the storage unit also being a 2 TB HDD with up to 50mb/s transfer rate. Generally the computer feels a bit sluggish but i understand as its running the OS and other stuff through the same HDD, but is there a way to make it more efficient, like partitions or what not?

The solution is to upgrade to a SSD

Get an ssd. Windows 10 and especially 11 basically require an ssd as the boot drive to have decent usability

windows 10 and onward really just chug on spinning rust. either upgrade to an SSD or learn to live with it.
