So when playing any other game i get around 20ms ping/latency but as soon as i load into a battlefield game (2042 or V) it jumps to 200-400ms making it unplayable. I have played with my friend and his latency is fine.

I have tried Port forwarding, disabling firewall, using Wi-Fi instead of ethernet, updating drivers but nothing seems to work and I am stuck as I'm not sure if the issue is related to my PC, game or Wi-Fi. Has anyone else experienced this? thanks.

Are you able to change which server you connect to in the game?

Geographical proximity to the game's server is a major reason for lag in online games.

Welcome to the forums!
Have you uninstalled reinstalled? That sounds like a weird bug that could happen due to corruption.
There is also a remote chance that your router has a wonky QoS setting but that's unlikely

BF2042 still has no server browser to this day, you gotta use VPN to move server regions. This is a huge issue for where the game is practically dead like in LATAM, Africa, and EMEA region.

Man, I miss Battlefield 4.

That's...terrible practice for a AAA online multiplayer game, honestly. Depending on where OP is, that may even be the problem.

The funny thing is you can switch region on any other EA titles. Its just BF2042 thats still doesnt have it.

TBH I'd ping their customer support.

yep i have tried but there is no way to contact them if its a connectivity issue it just sends you round in a loop, its so weird because i tried it on a different pc in the house and its fine. Just reinstalled windows and the problem is still here, only thing i can think at this point is that its the mobo but i have no clue.
