No, I wouldn't buy it.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Maybe Restart it?

A current Nvidia gpu with proper encoding would be better for you, encoding is the key.

No,
even though the gpu now has a lot more Performance due to driver updates than at launch, in this price range (~150$) you would be better off getting a used gpu or saving up a bit more for something like an RX6600 or an ARC A750 (i can find them both under 220$ consistently) i don’t know if that’s in your budget, but i wanted to point it out.

Not necessarily, If they get a outdated Nvidia GPU that doesn't even support encoding, how would that be better?

Its better than an iGPU and other budget GPUs in that price range. Its at least not 'e-waste' like the others and has 4 display outputs and a dedicated encoder. Equivalent RX 6400 or GT 1030 don't have a dedicated encoder and only 2 display outputs.

I have an A380 that's going to run a surveillance recording server because of its encoder, its currently running my living room PC. I obviously don't play games on it, but its far more valuable than any other $120-$140 new GPU.

You're generally better off looking for a GTX 1000 series like GTX 1060 6GB to GTX 1080 than buying new if you plan to game on it, but TBH the A380 isn't terrible if you have to buy new. Just you can get a used GPU for similar that'll be far better at gaming.

A380 supports even AV1 encoding. The only GPU in that tier that has a dedicated encoder.

Ok, so there are two options here, you can either go with the Nvidia GeForce 1650 Super.  or the AMD Radeon 5500XT. which does have better performance in raw gaming. But the Nvidia might be slightly more suited for streaming. Personally though, I would just go with the AMD Radeon 5500XT.

Yeah but used youre still looking at a solid 200-225 for 6600. 1660 and 2060 is more likely to be found.

Thought I'd resurrect this post since I did some short game testing on my Asrock Intel Arc A380.

The system the GPU is in is my abomination of a Silverstone SG13 with a front mounted Corsair 750W ATX power supply, 3950x, Hyper 212, 64GB 3200MHz RAM, X570 ROG Impact, all hooked up to my 4K TV in the living room.

I'd like to do more testing, maybe even rip out my 4090 and test it in my main rig.

Both Diablo 3 and Heroes of the Storm were 60-100 fps 4K high-medium settings. Diablo 3 was a mix but did use High textures, HotS I used the global 'High' preset.

Just from that testing alone, if you have a PCIe 4.0 capable system with resizable bar capability, its hard to argue against $120 that's an e-sport/low-fidelity 4K capable card. I imagine at 1080p with a budget CPU, it would be just as playable.

I was surprised with the performance personally which is why I'd like to do more, I just would rather not load my main PC with Intel drivers/software. I've thought about snagging the Arc 750/770 to play with, but at only $120 (on sale), its hard to argue against, even as a spare graphics card.
