Hackintosh on ASRock mobo.

Go to solution Solved by harrynowl,

Niresh might work. I've had no luck getting it to boot without -x though, regardless of patches / dsdt and what not.

I'd go Intel if you really want to hackintosh.

Hello!

I would like to ask something. I am having a AMD PC, FX-6300, ASRock 970 Extreme 3 R2.0 mobo and R7 260x. I would like to have Hackintosh installed next to Windows 8.1, is it possible? If it is, can you make a TUTORIAL of how to do it in right way?

Adam :)

Niresh is pretty much only way that is gonna happen (on AMD). Google it. You will most likely need to do a complicated install. Sound/network card on the motherboard will either work or not. Sleep will either work or not, you might have to disable it. GPU? I know r9 270 works due to the new Mac Pro going ATI and it being similar. 260x might work.

GPU could require post install kexts with kext wizard to work 100 percent though. Same with Sound/network.

I would google search your board with Niresh and the GPU. If it is possible, someone out there has done it. Anyways good luck :).

Hello guys!

Thanks for your answers. I just installed Niresh 10.9 on my AMD PC. Everything works fine. No issues with sound or graphics. ;)

Hello guys!

I installed Niresh 10.9 on my AMD PC today. I dualboot it with Windows 8.1. It almost works perfectly. I only can't get my Radeon runnin'. It still says 4mb VRAM. Anyone has an idea?

Grats on the install :)

You might need a post install kext for the GPU. Kextwizard makes installing them pretty easy and if there is no kext now, there might be one in the future. I would hit up Tony Mac and ask about the GPU. Also don't mention you have an AMD CPU, and I would definitely not mention you used Niresh. Just trust me on that lol. They tend to frown on Niresh just like they did Iatkos. Might also be a good idea to turn off automatic updates. Updates on something like Niresh and with non native Mac hardware might render the computer unusable, so I would check on Niresh site for when Apple does a big update to the OS.

Awesome that you got it running on an AMD CPU though.

Thanks mate!

I will keep looking on the internet for the solution, maybe I will come up with something new on my own. Wish me luck ;)
