Unfortunate Asus Mobo owner looking for some piece of mind.

I guess by now everyone and their grandma knows about Asus and Ryzen 7000 situation.

To not waste everyone’s time with long prelude, just a simple question.

is 1.3v limit on vsoc safe for 5 7600? According to hwinfo i’m sitting at 1.29v all the time.

Or should i look into ways of undervolting manually just to be on a safe side?

Thank you for the input.

you could undervolt if you want but those voltages are fine. I would undervolt anyway as I saw a big improvement on my 5600, the story might not be the same for you but you should get some performance out of it

Message me on discord (bread8669) for more help

I don't know if this reassures you...
Personally I've been running AMD Expo (6000MHz CL30) on my ROG Strix X670E-A Gaming WiFi with a 7950X3D on the latest beta version (1410) with the SOC voltage set to auto (~1.288, close to 1.3v) and it has been stuck to around ~1.24v, I could under volt it but no idea by how much, from what I've read this is probably fine.
image.png.b995aa0cfcfcd20afa3fe02eeae0c931.png

I guess some people were either very unlucky, or it only affected a few boards, or both.

Edit: It spiked at some point above 1.3v, maxed it now to 1.2v

Well i have tried Curve Optimizer in Bios to lower my Voltage but it didint seem to do anything. It just stays at 1.29v all the time.

That said i'm not very familiar with CPU UV/OC actually and besides just running ryzen master OC on AM4 i never delved into it.

I guess i will have to try to look for other ways.

Though i have suspicions that Asus locked their bios in recent releases since everything is greyd out and set to "auto" next to the voltage controls. I might as well be missing some other option i need to enable first though.

Honestly? Pray. That's what I'm doing.

This weekend I'll check my socket to see if there are any visible damages to the PCB and the pins from the motherboard and I'm just hoping that Asus gives us a proper bios asap.

Maybe you should do the same. Check for problems, if there are any, contact your RMA or something.

What do you mean by “first gen” this context?

First runs of am4 had problems, just like am5.

Well i waited for more than 6 months to adopt AM5. From the media and general info around itseemed like they more or less had shit under control by the time i've jumped to AM5.

Probably not it seems.

Update on the bios anyway.

It seems that this version limits vsoc voltages even more, to 1.28v and that is really making higher speed RAM kits an issue.
