Epson Projector Issues

Most projectors have a interal test pattern. Use that to see if the projector is the issue or the source. But id guess projector.

 

I'd guess red lcd screen has a black stripe and the lcd panel is bad. You can try replugging the cable to the lcd panel and you might get lucky, but I'd guess you have to replace it. These projectors can be a pain to take apart, and you have to be carful with all the optical stuff.

 

Since this projector is 7-8 years old its probably not worth fixining, and getting a new unit is your best option.

Visiting my parents and of course they have tech related things they want me to fix. I don't know much about projectors. They have an Epson Pro Cinema 6020UB I believe LCD and there is a solid line on the right side of the screen. My dad replaced the bulb with a brand new one so that's not on the table (hopefully it wasn't a bad bulb). My first thought was to try a new cable, but I haven't had the chance yet. Are there any other trouble shooting steps y'all could recommend if the cable swap doesn't fix it? Or is this a problem that is deeper than that and an issue with the board or processor? As far as I know the projector is about 7 or 8 years old from date of purchase, was a refurbished unit, haven't had any issues until now! Thanks in advance y'all.
