Thank you for your help Trinity-W.
I did use several drivers since I've got eh GPU, but you are right it seems to be worse since my last update.
I'll try to reinstall previous drivers et hope it would be more stable.

Regarding windows I made a fresh install last month so I don't think it could be the reason, but do you think I should check for other windows/nvidia settings ? (It more or less by default for now).
Also I heard about GPU bios. Do you think updating my gpu bios could help ? Is it risky ?

Thanks again for taking the time to help me !

Regards

It would be good to get you back on track and running smooth. Do try various drivers not just one. To get a good idea. Some drivers are just bad.

Is your computer running in performance mode, as in power settings and is your GPU running in performance mode in NVIDIA settings?

I do belive it is a graphics setting causing it like your driver. You could try a bios update if there is one just be careful and take your time to read.

Hi
I built a new pc and recently updated my gpu, but ever since my games keeps crashing.
My configuration is:

  • Gigabyte Z690 Gaming DDR4 (brand new)
  • Intel I5-13600kf (brand new)
  • 4 x 8GB Corsair vengeance LPX (second hand)
  • Samsung 990 PRO M.2 SSD (brand new)
  • Gigabyte Aorus RTX 3080 Xtreme (second hand)
  • Corsair RM1000X (second hand)

I hardly managed to play my games (Warzone 2, Fortnite, Assassin's Creed Orgins). Quickly my game will crash. Only my game, no windows freeze what so ever.
First I thought I had a faulty PSU, because I bought it on second hand market and it makes a little coil whine. But It was fine with my previous gpu RTX 2070 SUPER (except for the coil whine).

Then I noticed that when it happens I have a spike on my GPU usage on windows task manager.

Do you know what could possibly cause that ?

It is annoying because I spend my savings to get decent hardward. You would be my saviour solving that.

Regards,
Charly

Hi Charly, welcome.

Have you tried other NVIDIA drivers? I ask because it's always good to try various drivers to get a good idea. A bad driver can cause this spike.

Bit of a tech guy, converted to PC's when consoles did not entertain me enough, the last console being an Xbox, was fun with Halo multi-play though. But  the want to discover, to test, to learn more about computers drove me to levels I had never known...

Some GPU's I have had, 8800GTS 384MB, 7800GT, GEFORCE 4 MX440, 250GTS,  770 GTX, 1650 GTX, RTX 3050 Plus many other GPU's over the years...

The respect I have for LMG is massive like a black hole, sucking in all the knowledge, I watch their awesome video's, their knowledge is like that of a God. Seriously some say they are number 1 in the whole wide world. LMG is like the INTEL fabrication plant. Beaming with technology goodness...
