Help setting up multiple displays with two computers

Go to solution Solved by OhYou_,

what model is the work laptop

if it is a thinkpad, you should get a thinkpad dock as it will provide you two displayport outputs.

i advise against display port switches but if company is buying then go for that.

otherwise i suggest using a second display input on the monitor for the laptop and hopefully it has auto switch.
There is software you can use to disable the two displays on the desktop so that autoswitch will switch off to the laptop

Hello, I just got an obligatory work laptop that has vpn stuff because there has been security concerns where I work. I already use my gaming PC at home that is plugged to 4 sceens, two hdmi and two displayports. I want the two display port screens to be shared between my gaming pc and work laptop without having to manually switch the input of the screens.  An additional problem is that my work laptop has no DP outputs only one HDMI so I am not sure how to do this, also I would need to not lose at least 2k 144hz when this display is plugged in to the gaming pc.

Honestly this sounds impossible but I wanted to ask anyways just in case, is this doable?

some sort of USB-C docking station, if the laptop doesnt support any of that stuff.. HP's USB-c dock G5 will failure mode all the way down to USB 2.0 if necessary.

and then add a dual-monitor KVM switch.
