Compatability is good, however...

DDR5-6000 CL30 isn't great value for money. You'll get basically the same performance with DDR5-6000 CL36 but at a third of the price.

There are cheaper 140mm ARGB fans out there that will give you an equally dizzying array of flashing lights.

A single 4TB NVMe drive is probably cheaper than 2 2TB drives.

Also, you could get a cheaper B650 board, unless there are some features you need that mean you have to pay more.

Have you considered a 7900XTX instead of a 4090. I realise the headline is that the 4090 is faster, but the 7900XTX is alot cheaper, almost as good and has alot more Vram so it will stay relevent longer.

I might be experienced, but I'm human and I do make mistakes. Trust but Verify! I edit my messages after sending them alot, please refresh before posting your reply. Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticeably improve performance past 240mm and don't improve at all past 360mm. 9) RTFM.

One QD-OLED monitor instead of two average ones. You can get it a fair bit cheaper than that at Dell website with promo codes and cashback. Those fans are trash, don't bother. If you want upgraded fans get Phanteks T30 or Noctua A12x25

A 27 inch 1080p display is like flat out BAD. Pixels are huge and no amount of aa is fixing that.

If you just want a 1440p 144hz+ gaming pc then well 1500$ can easily be removed from the budget.

I tried telling him yesterday.

Fair enough.

Besides most games don't even wanna do more than 144fps hell a lot don't even get there all due to engine limits. 200hz+ gaming is for a limited selection of esports games that you can easily run at those fps on a mid range pc 😛

Great value? No not at all. But the performance difference is quite noticeable.

my understanding is that were talking about 2 nano seconds of latency difference between CL36 and CL30 at 6000Mhz? Surely that (and it's effects on other components) won't be a noticable difference (unless you had the two systems side by side) and isn't worth triple the price? Or is there something I'm missing here?
