12VHPWR corsair cable for RM1000i will it work?

Tadziunia

Ordered RTX 4090 SUPRIM X getting it tomorow, however my OLD rm1000i doesn't have new plug so i found this, however their compactibility chart is confusing i am not seeing my RMi series in it, i know for sure that my psu has type4 sockets and this is 2xtype4 to one 12vhpwr plug https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Accessories-|-Parts/PC-Components/Power-Supplies/Premium-Individually-Sleeved-Type-4-12VHPWR-Cable/p/CP-8920332 will it work with 4090 ?

Yes, that's compatible with the RMi. The RMi uses Type 4 cables.

If you've validated its a type 4, then you should be fine, including getting up to 600W.

PSU CABLE COMPATIBILITY (corsair.com)

Some 1000W or less power supplies have trouble drawing 600W, where most 12VHPWR native power supplies that support a 600W 12VHPWR are 1200W or higher. I started off with a RM1000x that was only a couple years old but didn't have type-4 cables. I was still able to run +550W of draw off of just two headers daisy chained into the 4x8pin adapter.

The internally adapted cables are great, basically as good as native 12VHPWR. Depending on how 'old' your PSU is, I'd recommend taking the opportunity to purchase an ATX 3.0/PCIE 5.0 power supply for the card, but overall, RTX 4090's have a very smooth power draw in comparison to the spikey madness that was RTX 3000. A lot less strain on a PSU even if its drawing +550W.
