New GPU for my pc

Go to solution Solved by Queen Chrysalis,

I mean, if you want a better framerate a dGPU would help a lot.

This would be the fast thing you could get for your money, about the spec of a PS5:

Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 6650 XT 8 GB Video Card (11319-03-20G) - PCPartPicker

This would be the other GPU I'd consider for the money, a little slower, a little cheaper:

PowerColor Fighter Radeon RX 6600 8 GB Video Card (AXRX 6600 8GBD6-3DH) - PCPartPicker

Either of these would be exponentially faster in any game.

Make sure your PSU has an external 6+2 pin connector for the GPU.

Budget (including currency): maybe 300€

Country: Italy

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I mostly play games like Rocket League, GTAV, Fortinite, The Sims, CSGO. This PC is used to do homework so it is used a lot

Other details: I already have a Ryzen 5 5600G with 16 GB of RAM and a 500GB Samsung SSD. Should I stick to the internal GPU?

intel arc has gotten really good currently, this a770 is a bit over your budget but has a lot of vram ASRock Phantom Gaming D Arc A770 8 GB Video Card (A770 PGD 8GO) - PCPartPicker

However the a750 is a really good price and beats the 6600 xt: ASRock Challenger D Arc A750 8 GB Video Card (A750 CLD 8GO) - PCPartPicker

Arc gpus have horrible drivers. They are sometimes good performance and other times abysmal performance compared to the competition making them just not worth the price. I mean if they had performance consistency I would recommend them but unfortunately they don't.

Yeah, it's not terrible, but it's gonna be a bit longer before I recommend them to someone looking for advice.  If I were looking to buy myself a GPU (I used to use a crossfire vega 64 workstation so I'm familiar with sucky drivers), I'd do it, but I'd be hesitant to recommend it to someone else.  In another year or two they should be a lot better.

Compared to the rx 6600 or 6600xt, the very small potential performance boost in some games is not worth the potential headache.  I'd rather have it 'just werk'.
