It's getting close to the summer, so I'm doing a $1500 build. Although I can probably go out of budget for around 100-200
Here's the list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CqLKzf

I'm doing the build mainly for gaming, content watching and potentially productivity on the side.

Any ideas?
A lot of choices I made are based on my last build, here:https://pcpartpicker.com/list/P3PQ4s

I'm giving that one away because I'm just that nice.

Mainly, I'm wondering whether I've spent too much on the mother board and power supply.
I'm uncertain whether I should go with AMD, I just liked it because it's good value, although I'm not so certain about that anymore. I'm kind of out of the loop

As well as I'm uncertian whether I should wait for 4070 to come out.

Anyways, thanks a lot for looking it thus far.

  • Way too much for that cooler. Spend a touch more and get something of quality, like a Noctua unit, or one of the significantly better heavy hitters.
  • I wouldn't get a 27" 1080p monitor, I'd aim for 1440p at that size.
  • PSU seems pricey, but I haven't checked comparables.

Is 1080p240 your true aim or are you still on the fence between 1440p144 and 1080p240?

I'm on the fence, I currently have a 2K 144hz monitor

You didnt specify what game but personally for most of the time 1440p would be it if you already have it and dont play any games competitively. Your build is close, just need some alteration for better performance at very slightest of overbudgets.

Yeah 6000 series Radeon MSRPs were horrifyingly bad. But now with it depreciated in new value while 3000 series nvidia stagnates, 6000 series Radeon makes far more sense in raw raster if you dont need nvidia featuresets. 7000 series Radeon wins out against 4000 series nvidia right now because of their scalped-out-of-the-factory MSRP for 4080 and 4070Ti, 7900XT is only 100$ extra above 4070Ti and can perform to the level of $1200 4080 on raw raster.
