MMO suggestions please?

Just started watching Log Horizon anime with friends which has given me a bit of an itch to try a new MMO or MMO-like game. Any suggestions?

 

Preferences:

• Fantasy setting - not sci-fi
• Eastern developer preferred (JP/KR/CN)
• 3D world. Preferably with graphics that are somewhat modern. No isometric or 2D hybrids.
• Official English servers
• Free or free trial available

 

In doing my own searching so far, Black Desert Online is a candidate. I don't expect to play a game long term, this is just to check out something new for short term. I also intend to check out Aion's European release next week.

Downloading 100GB, this is going to be one for later in the day then. I think I would have preferred a more traditional fantasy setting than the Eastern look, but this is interesting enough.

Then maybe Bless Unleashed. Don't be mistaken by Bless Global which is the mobile version that also available on PC. 

 

BDO is great too since you just want to try them out.

Graphically it seems less interesting than your earlier suggestion of Swords of Legends Online, where I've spent some hours now. Not actually progressing very far, just checking out the scenery in the noob zone. I find the great character design contrasting with questionable voice acting comical

Man PSO2: New Genesis was a letdown. I grew up with PSO episodes 1 and 2 and even pso2 had it's moments. But nothing quite captured that same feeling of finally getting a rare item like PSO the original. (for dreamcast/xbox/gamecube, can still play online PC with places like ephinea but I'm rambling)

 

I'm a huge elder scrolls nerd and ESO is a nice casual MMO but I get it doesn't fit your "eastern"  standard.

 

I also jammed Black Desert Online for about 5 months and while it is fun, there's a ton of Gatcha style elements that I'm not a fan of. Ultimately I set that aside and don't plan on returning there anytime soon. (But I did still enjoy my time while I was trying it out)

Yeah, Bless Unleashed is actually 7 years old and It use UE3 instead of UE4.

They keep releasing "new revision" of it because it failed so many times.

Try get Heart Of Thorn and Path Of Fire expansion bundle sales. That will open up the game and story.
