"Incorrect BIOS!" from Asus EZ Flash

Update!

I managed to solve it by using this tool:

https://protectli.com/kb/how-to-customize-the-boot-splash-screen/?intsrc=eu

This worked perfectly first try, so I can recommend trying it out for anyone that wants to change the splash screen on their computer.

Hello, I am trying to change the boot logo image on my Asus Pro-H510M-C motherboard.

I followed this guide and all the steps seemed to work fine. I made sure that the image file I am using is the same size as the original one.

But when I try to flash this modified BIOS file I get an error message. See image.

I flashed the BIOS with the .CAP file before modifying it, so the BIOS is up to date. I have tried using both the original file name of the downloaded .CAP file and the one created by the BIOSRenamer utility, which is what you see in the image above.

Any tips on what to do?

The error message you received might be due to a corrupted BIOS file or a wrong file name. You can try renaming the file to its og name and flashing it again.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Maybe Restart it?

Take everything I say with a grain of salt. I could be just about wrong as I am right.

A bit of an update, it seems like UEFI Tool is not able to create a .CAP file that EzFlash on this motherboard can deal with, because even an unchanged .CAP opened and then saved by UEFI Tool as a new file is unusable.

I do not know of any other similar tool that I can try.

EDIT: I also found a utility from Asus called LogoFlash, but I did not have much luck with that either, see attached screenshot

My guess is the Asus flash utilities incorporate some kind of checksum verification.  I'm not familiar with the logo mod, but unless it accounts for the checksum value I'm, not surprised it fails...  You'd kind of want that to work like this.
