Intel A380 vs A750 (Video transcoding/headless rendering)

Hi,

I am thinking about adding a gpu to my homeserver mostly for media transcoding in jellyfin and have been wondering of theres any benefit in getting a A750/A770 over a A380.

I can see a number of disadvantages (higher powerdraw, larger size, higher price, etc..) but the only benefit seems to be a higher number of xe units (28 vs 8) and slightly more ram (8 vs 6 gb).

Since my workload will almost exclusively use the hardware encoders/decoders and I will only very occasionally do any 3d rendering I wonder if the difference in xe units will gain me anything.

The 3d rendering will be diy vulkan stuff that does headless rendering (to a file) so I don't really care if it does 30fps or 30spf and I'd rather take the smaller formfaktor/powerdraw in this case.

TLDR: Will the vastly lower compute performance of the A380 influence transcoding in any meaningfull way ?

PS: I am running jellyfin inside docker inside a unpriviledged lxc inside proxmox, so getting this passthrough reliably is probably going to get funny but I am ok with trying that.  But in case anyone tried that before or has some hints/warnings I'll gladly take those aswell.

Thanks in advance for any input.
