Enough? Yes, to a certain degree.

Will there be bottleneck? Absolutely, 3080 is not optimized for 1080p, it is quite well known by now. If you play in 1080p don't get 3080, get 3070 Ti at most.

Or go with AMD, 6800XT does better in 1080p compared to 3080, but 3080 does better in 4K compared to 6800 XT.

You can browse this forum to check people complaining about their 3080 performing terrible in 1080p, I myself has answered at least 5 of those posts.

3700X's single core is too weak for high fps gaming, especially on PUBG, PUBG has terrible engine. I'm willing to bet that 3080 won't have stable >95% usage.

The only CPU that is sure to be able to not bottleneck 3080 in 1080p is 5800X3D.

So wtf were people playing pub on in 2017 when the game was far less optimized, zen 1 was an infant, and kaby lake was as fast as things got?

I edit the shit out of my posts.  Refresh before you respond.

He wants 240 fps, do you think 3700x could push 3080 to 240 fps on a terrible engine?

My 12400 with 6800XT can't even do that.

Yeah nah, but frankly IDK if anything can consistently.  Also that game is GPU heavy AF, and frankly just runs like shit (better than it used to but still shitty).  IDK if anything really can, so I'd just adjust expectations, and nmot let crapware be the thing that determines what parts I buy.  Settiling for a good enough FR in PUB (most people still really can't even differentiate 100Hz From 144Hz, much less 144Hz form 160 or higher), and let well-made games be the thing I base my parts choices on.
