CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F 2.5 GHz 6-Core Processor  ($159.71 @ Amazon)

CPU: Intel Core i3-13100F 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($119.99 @ Amazon)

I would definitely keep that 12400F. 12 threads are non-negotiable in my opinion especially for Forza Horizon 5. If youre looking to nick cost for LGA1700 system, its to get DDR4 kit instead.

If you really want 32GB kit, go for this one instead. Itll hit exactly 1050$ all in with that. Considering you are saying that you are comfortable with used market, look for used 6800XT to pair with it instead of the 6700XT mentioned in this one. Theyre usually around 400-425$ range on ebay, but YMMV, just the nature of used market.

Budget (including currency): 1,050 USD

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, Forza Horizon 5, and anything I think looks interesting on Steam. Looking to play in possibly 1440p.

I know Intel Arc is an interesting choice but I chose it because I want to try something new, also AV1 encoding is cool for the price.

Is there anything I could change to make it cheaper? Maybe, if I spent slightly more money I could get something that preforms much better? Should I go DDR4?

I'm also open to other case suggestions, I just chose this one because of the price and I think it looks pretty good.

I'm coming from a 5ish year old Dell Inspiron 15 laptop and didn't know if there was a way I could get the product key to use on the future PC. If not what are some good, cheap, ways to get one?

Anyways, thanks in advance for helping!

I've edited the list after some feedback.

I'm just going to say it. dont go ARC... You will regret it, find something else from team red or green.
Rest of the build actually looks pretty good!  I love the Corsair RM series, great PSU's.

Yeah, after I posted this I was looking into a used 3060 Ti, which are about $320.

Oh yeah, much better!  A friend of mine has a 3060Ti and I myself had a prebuilt I bought for a gf and it had a 3060, quite a decent GPU indeed!

G.SKILL Flare X5 Series AMD EXPO 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 Desktop Memory Model F5-6000J3636F16GX2-FX5

So does it mean that it doesn't work with Intel?

EXPO is optimized for AMD, XMP is optimized for Intel. Can they be interchanged? Sure. Will you get the XMP or EXPO rated speed if you aren't on the correct platform? Maybe, maybe not.
Here is a picture of all the G.Skill ram at 6000mhz supported on your Intel motherboard. However, just because its not listed doesn't mean it won't work! But there is no guarantee. The ram you listed is not on your mothboards RAM compatability list. If you want to check for yourself with different RAM you go to this website here and you can search by Speed - Supplier and Capacity 🙂

Thanks for letting me know! I'm found some other ram to use. Although I was looking at Microcenter and they have a very compelling combo which I'm also considering. Thoughts on it? I haven't done much research on the cpu yet, but it looks like I would need a better cooler lol.

For gaming the 7600x is a really really strong performer.  I personally use a 7700x with and RTX 4080 and I am super happy ( first time going AMD too ) Had intel since 2001.  Here you also have a combo that is 100% compatible.  For me I would definitely go this route.  You might need a slightly better cooler. Check out the Thermalright Peerless Assassin. Here are 2 pictures from a 10 game avg by Hardware unboxed with a 4090 ( pushing the CPU to the limit ) in both 1080p and 1440p and you see that the 7600x keeps up with the 13900k that is over twice the price!  Its a beast for the price. at the end is a link to the Thermalright Peerless Assassin benchmark.  Its 5AM here so I will reply to your questions tomorrow, I need sleep 😄  Hope I have been able to help you out so far, I will of course answer if you have more questions.

Thanks for the build! Do you think this, https://www.microcenter.com/product/5006270/amd-ryzen-5-7600x,-msi-b650-p-pro-wifi,-gskill-flare-x5-16gb-ddr5-5600-module,-computer-build-combo, would be good? I know it's a little over budget but it has a longer upgrade path with the AM5 socket.

I know I keep on changing the build a lot, but this part list, https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nDpzQ6, is also looking quite good. (SorryClaire posted it and I changed the gpu to a used one, as they suggested). Anyways, I hope you're sleeping well lol. Looking forward to what you will think of this part list.

Yep, it is!

Yeah, not that bad. Wished it come in better speed but 5600CL36 is competitive enough to be equipped to any system, and itll have a higher chance to boot with EXPO (AMD equivalent of XMP) than higher speed.
