Can anyone please give me a recommendation for a new network switch that will utilize my new 5 gpbs connection?
Cat5e in theory is good up to 2.5gbps
If you want 5gbps everywhere in your house, you'd probably need to upgrade to Cat6 or Cat6a wiring, OR add fiber in parallel to each room.
Servethehome has recently released a review of switches with 4+ 2.5gbps ports and SOME switches also had 10gbps ports.
Personally, I don't think it's worth it - I'd suggest spending a bit more on a switch with a bunch of 10g ports
Unixsurplus may have something not listed on their website, right now the stuff they have listed with 10g RJ45 and SFP+ is on the higher end stuff, with 24+ ports, from around $1000.
Last year, I asked them about something mid-range and they had in stock 2 units of Juniper EX4200 (24 x 10g SFP+ and 4x1g SFP with two power supplies) for $275 : EX4200 Ethernet Switch with Vitual Chassis Technology Datasheet - ex4200-ethernet-switch-with-vitual-chassis-technology.pdf
If you want new, $215 for a 8 port SFP+ is not bad : https://www.amazon.com/MokerLink-Support-Bandwidth-Unmanaged-Ethernet/dp/B09W24RZDC/
If your lengths are under 35 meters or so, you can use rj45 to sfp+ transceivers.
