DX 6600 low performance in games.

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: Powercolor RX 6600 Fighter 8GB

CPU: Inter Core i7 4790k @ 4.0Ghz

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA Z97x Gaming 3

BIOS Version: F5

RAM: 2x8GB Kingston KHX1600C10D3/8G DDR3 PC3-12800

PSU: Chieftec Navitas GPM-750c, 750w 80+ Gold

Case: Fractal Design Core 3300

Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 10 Home 22H2

GPU Drivers: AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.3.2

Chipset Drivers: Intel Corporation 11.7.0.1040 (not sure, found under Intel Management Service Interface in device manager)

Background Applications: Logitech G Hub, Corsair iCue, Steam, Bitdefender Antivirus

Description of Original Problem: I just bought and replaced the card yesterday. I am getting worse in game performance (tested in CS:GO and League of Legends) than with my old GTX 970. I understand that there is a bottleneck, but I'm guessing I shouldn't get lower FPS than before. I used passmark benchmark and the benchmark is significantly higher than with the GTX 970 (however lower than average rx 6600, which makes sense to me, as I am using a PCIe 3.0 board with a very old CPU and slow RAM).
I had a few instances of the AMD software crashing, could it be related?

Troubleshooting: I've tried setting windows power settings to high performance, turning off amd chill, amd lag etc, drivers are freshly installed on a new windows install, I have not tried to reinstall them again.

how much fps are you getting in your games. Could you tell us temps, power readings and cpu and gpu percentage usages? Need a bit more to go on

Amd software shows average fps in csgo (720p low settings) 170, and League 140 (max settings at 1080p)

Would you be able to suggest a best way to monitor and save the power+temp values?

Though as far as I saw midgame in csgo in the amd software, gpu was at 60 and CPU at 40 (Celcius).

Power and usage I do not remember at the moment.

huh, have you tried increasing graphics settings in CSGO?

Well, no, but on the 970 I had consistent 250+, and in League on same settings also above 200

Could you elaborate on this idea?

Thanks a lot!

high CPU bottleneck can get lifted with increased demand on GPU
