Laptop fan spinning after shutdown

Kench

Hi everyone

Couple of months ago I bought a HP ProBook 450 G6 Notebook and it worked great, until now. For some reason whenever I shut down the OS the CPU fan goes into overdrive and spins up even though the whole laptop is off.

I've looked up possible solutions including BIOS update, driver updates, changing power plan settings, even a different OS but it still does not shut down properly. The inside of the laptop is not dusty.

Any suggestions that you think would work are welcome.

does it stop after a while, or does the fan just go till the battery dies?
some laptops spin up the fans for a sec after shutdown just to cool down.

It stops once the battery is completely drained.
