I think I've seen both of these (could be wrong though) and IIRC, neither actually says what block they're using for the cooling and just focusses on the delidding aspect no?

If you meant the actual tools, there's the links for them. If you mean an actual block designed for delidded Ryzen 7000, those don't really exist, usually you have to modify the mounting hardware of whatever water block you get to use it. I get wanting there to be a block designed for it on the market, but realistically if you don't know how to make your own custom mounting hardware for a water block, you probably shouldn't be delidding your CPU either.

I'm not sure I agree with that last sentence. Whether someone should delid their CPU or not is essentially determined by whether or not they understand the risks and benefits involved and are capable of making an informed decision about whether or not they wish to take that risk. Having both the knowledge and equipment to create/modify mounting hardware is a completely different skillset. Now, I happen to have an engineering background and I'm more than capable of making a decent enough waterblock. However, I don't have the equipment so I'm SoOL there.

 

I understand it's a niche product, but I'd have thought that they could be sold for such a high markup it would be worthwhile, it's a shame that nothing exists on the market...

 

So am I right in thinking that what you're saying is you've basically got to take an existing waterblock designed for a CPU with an IHS, and then modify the mounting hardware such that it can contact the die(s)?

You seem to be really overestimating the amount of skill necessary to make mounting hardware. The stock mounting holes of a water block are fine, all that you need to make yourself is the screw mechanisms. You just need to get some M3.5 bolts to screw into the stock backplate, a couple springs if you don't want to do a hard mount, some washers, and some nuts to clamp the block down. It doesn't take a lot of effort to do that, it's just a trip down to the hardware store or if they don't have M3.5 gear (it is relatively uncommon) buying some crews on Amazon. Heck, depending on how the stock mounting hardware for whatever block you have is designed, it could be just as simple as adding a few washers to lower the Z height of the water block, though there are some potential issues with that depending on how the block is designed.
