MacOS Bootcamp Assistant info.plist question

Is there any reason behind removing "Pre" in every relevant key of the info.plist (such as 'PreUSBBootSupportedModels') for Bootcamp when trying to Install Windows 10 on unsupported Macs?

Some guides say that removing it is a must, while some others just don't.

I couldn't find a single thread about this. Does this have to do with macOS versions or something else?
